- 200 grams Udon Noodles (Fresh or frozen for best results.)
- 2 cups Water (For boiling noodles.)
- 2 tablespoons Salted Butter
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce (Crucial for authentic flavor.)
- 1 teaspoon Dashi Powder (Can use dashi stock concentrate as an alternative.)
- 2 tablespoons Green Onions (Finely chopped for garnish.)
- 1 tablespoon Nori (Seaweed) Shredded (Optional.)
- 1 tablespoon Bonito Flakes (Katsuobushi) (Optional.)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add udon noodles and cook them for 2–3 minutes until tender but still chewy.
- In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add dashi powder and a splash of water, stirring well for about 1 minute.
- Toss the cooked udon noodles into the pan, sautéing for 3–4 minutes until slightly crisp and golden.
- Remove from heat and drizzle in soy sauce, tossing the noodles to distribute the flavors.
- Plate the noodles and garnish with chopped green onions, nori, and bonito flakes as desired.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh udon noodles.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of soy sauce for personal taste.
