Description

A flavorful chicken dish cooked in a creamy tomato sauce, perfect for serving with rice or naan.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (for marinade)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for marinade)
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (for marinade)

Instructions

  1. Combine yogurt, garlic, ginger, chili powder, and salt. Mix with chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear marinated chicken until browned, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic and ginger. Add tomato puree, garam masala, cumin, coriander, paprika, and simmer until thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with sauce. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until chicken is fully cooked.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
