Description
This creamy chicken sausage broccoli orzo is a hearty and delicious dish.

- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets, fresh or frozen
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil, for sautéing
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add 1 cup of orzo. Cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.
- While the orzo cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 12 ounces of sliced chicken sausage and cook until golden brown, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet with the sausage. Sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant and golden.
- Stir in 2 cups of broccoli florets, then add the cooked orzo to the skillet. Toss everything together, allowing the flavors to meld for about 3-5 minutes.
- Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes over the mixture to taste. Stir well to coat everything.
- Dish out the chicken sausage broccoli orzo immediately, topping each serving with grated Parmesan cheese.

- This dish can be served hot or as a cold salad.
