Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: If using fresh dough, let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Cook the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the crumbled Italian sausage and cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Prepare the Base: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Spread tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle oregano evenly across the sauce.
- Assemble the Pizza: Evenly distribute the browned sausage crumbles over the tomato sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously on top.
- Bake: Transfer the pizza to a preheated baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve warm.
