- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients; do not over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and tap gently to remove air bubbles.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before serving.
Notes
- This cake pairs well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
