Description

A rich and layered dessert featuring chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups chocolate pudding (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreo), crushed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pudding: If using store-bought chocolate pudding, skip to the next step. To make homemade pudding, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and cornstarch in a saucepan. Gradually whisk in milk and cream. Cook over medium heat until thickened, then add chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth. Let it cool.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Dessert: In a serving dish, spread a layer of chocolate pudding at the bottom. Add a layer of crushed chocolate cookies over the pudding. Spread half of the whipped cream over the cookies. Repeat the layers once more: chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and remaining whipped cream.
  4. Top with Garnishes: Sprinkle slivered almonds, additional crushed cookies, and chocolate chips over the top. Drizzle caramel sauce for extra sweetness and flavor (optional).
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the texture to set.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, consider layering in some crushed pretzels.
  • If you prefer a less sweet dessert, reduce the amount of sugar in the whipped cream.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead, making it ideal for parties and gatherings.
  • Add a touch of sea salt to the caramel sauce for a salted caramel twist.
