Description

A flavorful Cajun dish made with ground beef and rice, perfect as a hearty side or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Add the chopped onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well to coat the meat and vegetables.
  4. Add the rice and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot as a hearty side or main dish.
